Pizza Wednesdays:
Pizza will be offered for lunch on Wednesdays. Proceeds to benefit the foreign travel program.

Sports Equipment Sale:
Takes place in September on a Saturday morning.
Donated used (but good condition) sports equipment is sold on campus. This is a great opportunity to clean out your garage, and to pick up some inexpensive gear for P.E. and upper school sports.

Paper Chase:
Takes place at the end of September.
An Equestrian event held in the beautiful Laurels preserve. Riders from all ability levels cross terrain and finish for prizes. Jumps optional and young rider course available. Volunteers needed, riding experience not necessary to help at event.

Halloween:
Takes place in late October.
Includes overseeing and gathering supplies for the decorating of campus, which is done by the 8th grade and lower school, and purchasing of pumpkins for 9th grade jack-o-lantern alley. Oversees another volunteer who plans for the lower school party and sets up games and students pumpkin display.

Dinner with Someone Special:
Takes place in October.
The UPA holds a supper in the student center from 4:30-6:30 pm. Students are encouraged to bring a parent, grandparent or special friend.

Holiday Gift Shoppe:
Takes place end of November.
Local artisans and craft people selling products. Adult only preview party in the evening, followed by two full days of holiday shopping, and Santa's workshop where the kids can shop for inexpensive gifts.

Wine Event (Vini e Stuzzichini):
Takes place in February -biennial event.
A wine tasting and gourmet food pairing event. Volunteers needed as wine tasting guides (you will be trained) and pourers, hors d'oeuvres and dessert makers and servers.

Faculty Appreciation Breakfast:
Takes place in May.
The UPA hosts an appreciation breakfast in the Barn for Upland faculty and administration. Event chair coordinates set up, food donation and serving, with the help of volunteers.

Field Day:
Takes place in May.
The UPA provides lunch after students participate in field competition. Event chair coordinates purchase of supplies, volunteers to donate and prepare food.

Bookstore:
Ongoing throughout the year.
UPA provides school apparel and merchandise year round in the business office on the second floor of the farmhouse. Coordinator responsible for ordering Upland apparel and logo items.

Boxtops for Education:
Ongoing throughout the year.
Students bring in "boxtops" from General Mills products, and school receives monetary compensation from General Mills. Chairperson occasionally runs competition and reward for homeroom with largest boxtops donation. Chairperson counts and mails in boxtops twice a year.

OneCause/SchoolPop:
Ongoing throughout the year.
UPA is a member of the OneCause network. OneCause is a web portal where you register. When you shop with any of their 500 registered retailers (i.e. Lands' End and L.L. Bean,) a portion of your purchases are returned to Upland in cash. The administrator of the Upland/OneCause partnership does the administrative tasks online at the OneCause site and occasionally reminds the Upland community to register. The best way to get involved or support this project is to go to www.OneCause.com and register with Upland Country Day as your school. Any purchases you make online will automatically be credited to our school.

Auction 2012:
Takes place in February -biennial event
A festive evening of dining, dancing and lively bidding. Many volunteers needed for both planning and set up to make this event a success.

Buddy System:
A collaboration between the school and the UPA. A "Buddy Family" will be assigned to each new family to welcome them to our school, answer any questions they have and remind them of important events. A "New Family Survival Guide" is distributed to each new family.
